Another fantastic local conference under my belt. Writing for Charity was founded by Shannon Hale and, as the name implies, the proceeds are donated to charity. It was a great con with a lot of talented authors as speakers and panelists. I was also excited to attend because they offered a critique session with one of the authors. I ended up with Mette Ivie Harrison, which just so happened to be my first choice. There, I was able to read my manuscript to her along with four other aspiring authors. It was a wonderful learning experience and am happy to see so much talent out there. This is a conference that I will always strive to fit in my schedule, which should be easy because it’s only on Saturday from 9 to 5. Best part was that Lexie and I had time to go out to dinner to discuss the conference as well as go to see the new Divergent movie. It was a fun day and I can’t wait for next year.
